It was TAKBO.PH’s 2nd year Anniversary. To celebrate this special occasion, a 5k and 10k Running Event was organized and it was held at The Fort, Taguig City.
The event was a complete success, which was well attended by at least 4,000 runners. It was really great to see all the runners using their personalized blue takbo.ph singlet and race bib no.
The weather was cooperative, because it was overcast and cloudy, which was a perfect cool running weather. Then a few hours after the event, it started to rain heavily, and most of the major roads in the metropolis were flooded. Talk about a God Bless Race. :-)
To just give you a little background, the first time I met the Founder of Takbo.ph, Mr Jinoe Gavan, was July 2008 at the Philippine 1/2 marathon Race, which was held at the Quirino Grandstand. Back then, Takbo.ph was non-existent and Jinoe G. was better known by his blog name “ManokExpress”. But because Jinoe was hooked on running, he wanted to create a forum to cater to the Filipino running Community. That was the time Takbo.ph was born.
Who would think that it would be this big with an estimated 9,000 members.
