After 46 years, one of the most iconic hotels in Makati will be closing its doors by the end of the year to pave way for new development in the Makati Business District. InterContinental Manila, which first opened it's doors on April 11, 1969, is the longest operating international chain hotel in the Philippines. Through the years the Intercon has been a well regarded institution that has personally borne witness to many wonderful memories that span several decades. I recall having halo-halo, puto bumbong and crepe samurai at the Jeepney Bar on Sunday afternoons with the family during my early childhood then partying all night at WHERELSE (which later evolved to be Euphoria Disco) in my teens and savoring the Prime Rib and other steak specialties at the Prince Albert in the latter years. It is sad to see this long standing landmark closing. Farewell INTERCON.
Thanks for the memories.
