After a Productive meeting last Nov. 4,2009 between Condura Run Team and Sonia Trading “ Asics Running Shoes “. It was kind enough for Mr. Anil Buxani – Managing Director of Asics to give us free Running Shoes to Take home. Mr. Anil mentioned that he will send us running shoes at least every month for us to comment on. To the Asics Group thank you very much.
Listed below is my comment on the ASICS KAYANO - 15.
SHOE: Asics Kayano - 15
RUNNER: Raul Patrick Concepcion “RunningShield “
HEIGHT: 5’5 ft.
WEIGHT: 131 lbs.
ARCH TYPE: Normal
WEEKLY MILEAGE: 76 km / week
YEARS RUNNING: 29
HOW MANY KM I RAN TO TEST SHOE:
1st day - 15. 28 km
ff. day - 12.33 km
Total Testing Mileage on Shoe – 27.61 KM.
TYPE OF TERRAIN: Asphalt / concrete /grass
WEATHER: Drizzles, wet road.
RIDE OF SHOE (CUSHIONING, FLEXIBILITY, RESPONSIVENESS)
I am a heel to toe runner. The shoe’s cushioning on the heel area is very good, as it is not too much that you can no longer feel the road. Also, the transition / lift from the heel to toe was just perfect, as it does not feel too stiff and its flexibility was just right.
UPPER SOLE: The wick materials on the shoe made my feet breath and remain cool.
EYELETS / LACING: Because the eyelets curve thus giving a snugger fit.
- Excellent on Asphalt / Concrete
- Good in muddy terrain (very little mud that sticks to the out sole of the shoe )
- Good when you run over Glazed or polyurethane flooring.
24 HOURS RECOVERY AFTER RUN ASSESTMENT (How does the body, legs, feet feel like 24 hrs after the run. Ex. Stiff, sore, pain in certain areas etc.) :
I was still able to run a 13km the following day and legs did not fell worn out or tired.
As my running progresses, the “SOCKLINER” material gets to be too “spongy” because it gets soaked in my own sweat and rain water, thus making the shoe a little heavier. I would then replace the Sock liner with a non absorbing brand.
The Kayano – 15 is a very good training shoe. The ride is awesome on all types of terrain.
